When my daughter was born, I found a TV channel that played nothing but Star Trek: The Next Generation. I’ve always been a fan of genre story-telling, of sci-fi and fantasy, and I’ve dipped my toes in the Star Trek pool a few times, but I never fully committed. I devoured that channel every night as I tried to sooth my baby back to sleep, and it’s inspired me. As I’ve found myself needing a creative outlet in the maelstrom of being a first-time parent, I’ve decided to begin a grand odyssey through not only Trek, but the media that engages me. I’ll be writing episode reviews, thoughts on media new and old, and anything else that comes to mind. Not just trek, but other genre stories across mediums. Star Wars, X-Men, Buffy, A Song of Ice and Fire… it’s all up for grabs. ENERGIZE!
